Defending race champions Rowe Racing will start on pole for tonight’s running of the Nurburgring 24 Hour race after a wet and wild final qualifying shootout.
Nick Yelloly, who shares the BMW M6 with Nicky Catsburg, John Edwards and Philipp Eng, mastered the tricky conditions to set a time of 10m01.619s, to outpoint the Konrad Lamborghini Huracan of Axcil Jefferies. The Lamborghini’s time also put it at the front of the Pro-Am category.
Third place went to Mercedes driver Manuel Metzger, ahead of Jesse Krohn in the Schubert BMW and Nico Bastian’s Mercedes. Completing the top 10 were Raffaele Marciello in the GetSpeed Mercedes, his team-mate Moritz Kranz, Nicki Thiim in the #Phoenix Audi R8 LMS, Julien Andlauer in the Rutronik Porsche 911 GT3 R and Max Hesse in the RMG BMW.
The Frikadelli Racing Porsche Team with Australia’s Matt Campbell behind the wheel will start from position 17. The KCMG Porsche with Josh Burdon at the wheel will start back in position 26.
