A back injury suffered while driving a “Monster” Truck will keep well known TV star and part time V8 Supercar driver Grant Denyer out of next months Bathurst 1000. Ford Rising Stars Racing Team owner Jim Morton released a statement today September 19 announcing Denyer's withdrawal from the race.

Triple Eight racing pair Jamie Whincup and Craig Lowndes will start from pole poition after a win to Whincup in the final sprint race today. In a confusing two race qualifying format Whincup led from the front to outlast Dick Johnson Racing's Will Davison, however on aggregate points between the two 14-lap races the HSV Dealer Team Commodore of Rick Kelly and Paul Radisich will share the front row.

When Jason Bright left a factory Holden drive to join Ford with his own race team there were plenty of detractors ready to claim the boy from Moe had gone completely mad. Now with Ford withdrawing their factory support for several teams, including Jason's you'd expect he might have joined them. But no. Despite all the knocks, the struggle and a lack of outright wins, Bright is ploughing on although he admits the Ford decision has had an effect.
