Former Victorian Champ joins GT3 Challenge Former 944
Challenge driver Kane Rose will make the transition from leading
state level competitor to national competition with the new all
Porsche Series, the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge at Phillip Island
next month. Rose who has progressed through Sprint Karts, Commodore
Cup, to being Porsche 944 Victorian Champion before moving onto
outright Sports Cars last year stepped up to a 996 Porsche GT3 Cup,
but he has done little racing in that car due to budget constraints
and work pressures. This year Porsche Cars Australia and Porsche
Insurance have backed a new series, the Porsche GT3 Challenge Cup
for recently superseded Porsche Race Cars as part of the Shannons
Nationals. Rose who has not raced since last November has been
developing and retuning the GT3 after work at Ian Rose Motors and
he believes after a recent test at a PIARC Club Sprint that he can
run with the best at his home circuit of Phillip Island in his
national series debut. For further details see
