PHILLIP ISLAND CRUISE FOR A GREAT CAUSE

PHILLIP ISLAND CRUISE FOR A GREAT CAUSE

Car and Bike clubs from all over Victoria have been invited to a very special event at Phillip Island on August 26th.

The Beau Vernon All Makes Car and Bike cruise will be run to assist young local footballer Beau Vernon who was severely injured while playing for Leongatha in the local football competition.

Vernon, who played TAC Cup for the Gippsland Power and VFL for the Casey Scorpions sustained the injury in a match for Leongatha against Wonthaggi.

The Vernon family are well known in the area with Beau’s father Daryl a former coach of the club as well as a regular in the VFL/AFL back in 1980s with Richmond and Sydney.

The run will get underway from the new McDonalds store in Bass with the cars and bikes cruising to the Phillip island footy ground for a car and bike show and sausage sizzle.

Entry is $10 for each car or bike with all money going to assist the Vernon family in the long struggle ahead.

Beau is currently still in hospital and the prognosis is that he looks likely to spend the rest of his life in a wheelchair.

Local business have established a fund for donations and if you’d like to help and you can’t make it down for the run the donations can be made to the “Beau Vernon Account’ at any Westpac branch, BSB 033-237, account number 179142.

Please pass this information on to as many car and bike clubs as possible and let’s make this event a success.
