WEBBER IS THE TV ONE

Mark Webber’s push to the top of the F1 World Championship ladder and his fierce battle with team mate Sebastian Vettel is paying off for TEN’s digital sports channel ONE.

Ten was outgunned by its digital sports channel One, thanks to the success of Webber in the Hungarian Grand Prix.

The 345,000 audience was One’s best ever F1 audience to date. It even out-rated Ten, which was showing Little Miss Sunshine which pulled in only 293,000 viewers.

It compares more than favourably against the audiences for Seven’s V8 supercar telecasts. Despite a fall in average audience the V8’s are still pulling in around the 300′000 mark.

Webber’s success has even cut through notoriously myopic Melbourne sports leader 3AW with discussion on Sunday’s race receiving rare coverage on the ironically named “Sports Today”
