IT’S OFFICIAL: ALONSO TO FERRARI

It’s official, Fernando Alonso will join Ferrari for three years replacing Kimi Raikkonen.

In a statement issued overnight (Australian Time) Ferrari F1 boss Stefano Domenicali made the announcement that had been expected for several months.

“We are very proud to welcome to our team another winning driver, who has demonstrated his amazing talent by winning two world championships in his career to date,” Domenicali said.

Alonso’s arrival at MaranelloMaranello means the end of the sometimes turbulent relationship with Raikkonen.

It is expected that should he wish to continue racing that the Finn may replace countryman Heiki Kovalainen at McLaren.
