Australian race and motoring engineering companies Adrad and Harrop Engineering have merged to combine their substantial automotive manufacturing and engineering expertise.
The move to combine the two companies is designed to allow both organisations to expand their product ranges and market shares both nationally and internationally.
The merger was announced by Mr. Gary Washington, Managing Director of the Adrad Group of Companies and Ron Harrop, Managing Director of Harrop Engineering.
‘Adrad and Harrop Engineering going forward have a huge potential. Both organisations have established their reputations built on innovation, quality, and exceptional customer service. Those fundamentals will remain as the cornerstone of our merged operations’, Mr. Washington said.

Building businesses from the ground up to be world leaders in our respective areas is what we have both achieved as individuals and it is exciting to contemplate what we will be able to achieve as a combined force’, Mr. Harrop said.
Adrad, established in 1985, is the largest manufacturer of automotive and industrial radiators and condensers in Australia and also manufactures performance equipment including aluminium water radiators and intercooler products. Adrad’s head office and major manufacturing facility is located in Adelaide, South Australia. In addition there are manufacturing sites in Currumbin on the Gold Coast and Auckland in New Zealand. The Group also incorporates Air Radiators near Geelong and CBM Technologies at Regency Park in South Australia. All up the Adrad Group employs in excess of 500 people
With its origins dating back to 1954, Harrop Engineering is synonymous with excellence in motorsport design and engineering with Ron Harrop indelibly linked with legends of the sport such as drivers Norm Beechey and Bob Jane, Peter Brock and most Supercar teams.
In addition to its performance and racing products, including brake components and superchargers that are exported worldwide, Harrop Engineering specialises in computer aided engineering, prototyping, aluminium casting, industrial engineering and production manufacturing, to a variety of industry sectors.
Harrop Engineering has some 50 staff and is based in Preston, Victoria. It also has operations in both New Zealand and the USA.
In addition to their core businesses the merged Adrad-Harrop Engineering entity will continue its motorsport involvement with links to Adrad Racing (Bryce Washington- V8 Supercars, and Trevor Green – Sprintcars) while also supplying components and design services to professional racing teams both in Australia and overseas.
